A great isolated peak on Mirkwood's eastern edge, delved by Durin's Folk from T.A. 1999 into the Kingdom under the Mountain. Smaug the dragon seized it in T.A. 2770; Bilbo and Thorin's Company reclaimed it in T.A. 2941 after the dragon's death and the Battle of Five Armies, and it remained a Dwarf-kingdom into the Fourth Age.
