Esgaroth

A town of Men built on great piles driven into the Long Lake, connected to shore by a single bridge, ruled by an elected Master. Thorin's Company was welcomed here in T.A. 2941 before assaulting Erebor; Smaug burned much of the town in retaliation before Bard slew him, and it was later rebuilt.
