The Baggins family smial dug into the Hill above Hobbiton by Bungo Baggins around T.A. 2880 with his wife Belladonna Took's money. Home in turn to Bilbo and Frodo Baggins and later Sam Gamgee, it was the starting point of both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and is famed for its round green door.
