Bree

Bree-land · town

The chief town of Bree-land, built on and about Bree-hill at the crossing of the East Road and the Greenway, with some hundred stone houses of Men and many Hobbit-holes on the hillside. Home to the Prancing Pony, it was settled by Men in the Elder Days and later joined by Hobbits fleeing east around T.A. 1300, remaining prosperous under the hidden watch of the Rangers.
